Classified by Layout and Application
Lift Table Milling Machine: Includes universal, horizontal, and vertical types, mainly used for machining small to medium-sized parts, and is the most widely used.
Gantry Milling Machine: Includes gantry milling and boring machines, gantry milling and planing machines, and twin-column milling machines, all used for machining large parts.
Single-column milling machines and single-arm milling machines: The former allows the horizontal milling head to move along the column guide rail, and the worktable performs longitudinal feed; the latter allows the vertical milling head to move horizontally along the cantilever guide rail, and the cantilever height can also be adjusted along the column guide rail. Both are used for machining large parts.
Milling machines with fixed table: Available in rectangular and round table types, these are medium-sized milling machines, falling between vertical table milling machines and gantry milling machines. Vertical movement is achieved by the milling head moving up and down on the column.
Instrument milling machines: Small vertical table milling machines used for machining instruments and other small parts.
Tool milling machines: Used for mold and tool manufacturing, equipped with various accessories such as vertical milling heads, universal angle tables, and plugs. They can also perform drilling, boring, and planing operations.
Other milling machines: Such as keyway milling machines, cam milling machines, crankshaft milling machines, roll journal milling machines, and square ingot milling machines, these are specialized milling machines manufactured for machining specific workpieces.
